The Legend

TURQUOISE TERRIFICA

Are you tantalized by turquoise? Then where you lead, I will follow! An attraction to this vibrant shade springs from your strong powers of perception, and an ability to find the best way forward in any situation. Indian Textile Designer Suneetha/Bhaavana’s hand-smocked silk Ikat sari is a lustrous foil to the treasure within its folds. Stunningly hand embroidered by Chinese artisans is a portrait of a geisha in full, glorious costume, complete with the tools of her dance, a pair of fans. Lavish beading further embellishes the scene,
which is completed by jewelry artist Ronda Terry’s sparkling kiln-fired dichroic glass button.

Lead On, And Conquer In Style!

Susan Hollingsworth

Susan Hollingsworth has always had a knack for storytelling. Her years spent living in countries from Europe to Asia introduced her to the ancient practice of fiber art and the techniques that women used to create visual stories – with thread and fabric – passed down to them from their ancestors. During a stint in London, she studied pattern making from the Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, which became the catalyst for SuKaz jackets. Rather than pen and paper, Susan designs wearable pieces of art, each one telling a unique story through the hands of skilled artisans from cultures around the globe.

Ronda Terry

Multi- talented jewelry artist Ronda Terry works magic in her Michigan studio, conjuring delicacy and beauty from bits of rough metal, raw gemstones, and broken glass. Each of her exquisite creations is forged using caustic chemicals, 1500 degree heat, and a master’s hand. Ronda fashions a range of jewelry, dichroic glass tile, and buttons using techniques of kiln firing, enameling, casting and etching. And each brings its own brand of magic to a Sukaz jacket.
