The Legend

ENCHANTED

Legend has it that a mermaid casts a spell with her song. In this scene depicted in a combination of applique, embroidery and origami by Indian Textile Designer Suneetha/Bhaavana, the siren is caught up in her own magic, swimming in a kaleidoscope of color and light.

Susan Hollingsworth

Susan Hollingsworth has always had a knack for storytelling. Her years spent living in countries from Europe to Asia introduced her to the ancient practice of fiber art and the techniques that women used to create visual stories – with thread and fabric – passed down to them from their ancestors. During a stint in London, she studied pattern making from the Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, which became the catalyst for SuKaz jackets. Rather than pen and paper, Susan designs wearable pieces of art, each one telling a unique story through the hands of skilled artisans from cultures around the globe.
